Mr. Usman Gohar has over a decade of experience in the areas of network engineering, security and system integration. He served as the lead RFID and Wi-Fi design engineer for a modernization project for the Dept. of Veterans Affairs. He also was instrumental in implementation and operations migrations for the first ever office of Aljazeera America in Washington D.C. Mr. Gohar has acted as the lead designer on various projects for the U.S. federal agencies. This includes designing large scale CCTV system network deployment for WMATA. He is also a SME in advanced computation machines, distributed systems programming and long term data storage in support of medical research and academic institutions.
In his current role with Sunrays, he manages a team of engineers to support day-to-day operations of a complex data center and oversees Sunrays’ global IT operations.
Mr. Gohar graduated Magna cum laude from George Mason University with a Master’s degree in Telecommunications. He holds an honors degree in computer science and is a Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert – CCIE. His key areas of interest include network security, MPLS and SDN, and working on virtualizing legacy systems to increase their operational efficiency.
